October always brings a wave of pink ribbons and powerful reminders—early detection saves lives.
Let me tell you about one such story. She almost brushed it off—just a tiny lump.Nothing painful. Nothing serious. But that small moment of awareness saved her life.
She was 34, healthy, active, and busy like most of us. One morning after her bath, she noticed a slight change in her breast. Instead of ignoring it, she trusted her instinct and got it checked.
That “nothing” turned out to be an early stage of breast cancer, completely curable because she found it on time.
That’s what this month is truly about—not fear, but awareness and empowerment.Every woman deserves that chance.
And it starts with something simple: a self-breast examination.
Once a month—preferably after your periods—take a quiet moment for yourself.
Stand before a mirror.
Raise one arm, and with the flat three fingers of your other hand, gently feel your breast in small circular motions.
Cover the entire area, including the armpit.
Use light, medium, and firm pressure, feeling through the layers beneath your skin. Then repeat on the other side. Try again while lying down—sometimes that’s when you notice subtle differences more easily.
Your awareness is your armor. Make it a monthly ritual and gently remind every woman you love to do the same.
This October, let’s go beyond the pink ribbon. Let’s practice the awareness it stands for. Because that one minute might just save a life. 💗
