Hello everyone,Let’s talk about one of the most misunderstood causes of painful, heavy periods — adenomyosis.
Here’s what this silent troublemaker does inside your uterus:In adenomyosis, the inner lining of the uterus (endometrium) starts growing into the muscle wall (myometrium). Every month, this tissue still responds to hormonal changes — it bleeds, swells, and sheds — but since it’s trapped within the muscle, it leads to inflammation, bloating, and intense pain.
That’s why some women feel like their periods are draining them completely — emotionally and physically.
Common symptoms include:
💢 Heavy or prolonged bleeding
💢 Severe, crampy pain during periods
💢 A feeling of pressure or fullness in the lower abdomen
💢 Constant bloating or tenderness
Adenomyosis tends to appear more often in women in their 30s and 40s, especially after childbirth — but it can affect anyone. The important thing to remember is that it’s treatable.
Treatment depends on your symptoms and your fertility plans, and can include:
💊 Medicines to control pain and bleeding
🌸 Hormone therapy to regulate cycles
✨ Surgery, if symptoms are severe or if you’re done with childbearing
If your periods feel unbearable month after month, don’t dismiss it as “normal.”Your body is trying to tell you something — listen to it early, and let’s make those cycles peaceful again.
With warmth and care,
